The Sri Lankan Government and the Ministry of Power have launched some programs to promote this clean, renewable energy resource, solar, in collaboration with Sri Lankan sustainable energy authority. Soorya Bala Sangramaya is one of the most popular programs the Sri Lankan government launched to promote solar energy in Sri Lanka.
We explored the different types of solar power systems, such as on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems, along with their advantages and disadvantages. We proposed several recommendations to promote the installation of solar panels in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has put in place a net metering scheme that allows people to install solar panels and sell any extra electricity they produce back to the national grid in order to encourage the use of solar energy. This method promotes the use of green energy, reduces electricity costs, and adds to the nation''s energy supply.
The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy has launched a national program to install 100,000 solar rooftops over the next ten years to meet the country''s electricity needs with green energy sources. This program aims to have at least 18% of electricity produced by domestic customers in Sri Lanka.
