As shown in Fig. 1, a photovoltaic-energy storage-integrated charging station (PV-ES-I CS) is a novel component of renewable energy charging infrastructure that combines distributed PV, battery energy storage systems, and EV charging systems.
The results provide a reference for policymakers and charging facility operators. In this study, an evaluation framework for retrofitting traditional electric vehicle charging stations (EVCSs) into photovoltaic-energy storage-integrated charging stations (PV-ES-I CSs) to improve green and low-carbon energy supply systems is proposed.
The results indicate that, while the current energy storage subsidy policies positively stimulate photovoltaic energy storage integration projects, they exhibit a limited capacity to cover energy storage investment costs, thereby failing to incentivize capital market participation in the construction of such projects.
Furthermore, Liu et al. (2023) employed a proxy-based optimization method and determined that compared to traditional charging stations, a novel PV + energy storage transit system can reduce the annual charging cost and carbon emissions for a single bus route by an average of 17.6 % and 8.8 %, respectively.
